I am passionate about London Market insurance. Yes - you read that right! I work with carriers, brokers and other London Market suppliers to transform their business and optimise benefits using a highly structured and governance-led approach.
I have been doing this for 12 years, working with brokers such as Howden Group and Miller Insurance Services and carriers like AGCS, Liberty Mutual, QBE, AXIS and Travelers.
My primary focus is on the Distribution, Underwriting/Broking, Operations and Compliance/Risk functions.
While most of my work is concentrated within EC3, I have delivered assignments in several overseas branches in Paris, Munich, Madrid, Milan, Chicago, Johannesburg and Hong Kong.
I have also co-authored a book, published in September 2022.

- Post M&A integration: M&A activity shows few signs of slowing down. Take a look at the Case Studies page for more information.
- Target Operating Model: I work with firms at different stages of maturity. I enjoy working with clients without a documented TOM and use a Playbook approach to generate a Gap Analysis and Action Plan to implement it.
- Corporate entity restructure & TUPE: I draw together all stakeholders and third parties necessary for a legal entity restructure. Check out the Case studies page.
- Delegated Authority & MGAs: This is a growing area, with PE firms, brokers and carriers looking to capitalise on the growing MGA sector by offering incubator type services. I have worked with several clients on DA solutions in the UK & Continental Europe. In my Case Studies page you can read about my recent assignment.
- Corporate governance, Risk & Controls: regulatory scrutiny is increasing and I help firms ensure they are not only carrying out the correct activity but crucially they also evidence it. In particular, ESG, Consumer Duty and Operational Resilience are proving resource heavy challenges for already stretched Compliance teams.
- Multi-National risks: I delivered an MNP solution to a client as part of their European GWP growth plans. An initial tactical tool enabled underwriters to write multi-territory risks in a compliant and profitable way. A further, strategic 3rd party solution brought a significant time saving.
- Process Management: creating a process management framework has helped my clients to understand their own activities (especially post M&A) and create a framework for process controls, risk management and internal audit.
- Segregation of duty: process management work has enabled me to work with multiple clients to identify and select processes that should be transferred to other teams (e.g. Underwriting to Ops), outsourced or completely offshored. This has delivered cost savings and freed up time for Underwriters and Ops folks alike.
- Process improvement: process mapping provides a great baseline for making data-led process improvement decisions. You don't necessarily need the full set of Lean or Six Sigma skills in your back pocket to mine significant cost savings and reduce waste and business risk.
- Regulatory oversight: the UK and international regulatory bodies (EIOPA & IAIS) introduce new initiatives at an alarming rate. I can help clients understand and size the new requirements or enhance existing capabilities. Product Governance and Consumer Duty are the big red flag areas at the moment.
- Strategy & Feasibility Studies: if a client has a hypothesis about an opportunity, I excel at carrying out rigorous research studies into feasibility before costly investments are made! Equally, if the opportunity gets the green light, I can keep the baton and deliver the opportunity in question, creating consistency.
- Change capability & governance: lots of clients ask me how change teams represent value for money. And I get it - they are a cost centre after all. I work with organisations to establish rigorous and transparent change governance frameworks, which enable the tracking, monitoring, reporting and (most importantly) measurement of change initiatives.
